This week we’ll be getting our first introduction to a brand new recurring member of the Riverdale gang: Harper, Archie Comics‘s first central disabled character to be introduced in quite a while. Harper is based on real life children’s authorĀ Jewel Kats, who petitioned Dan Parent (the Archie creator who oversaw Kevin Keller’s intro) to include a disabled character in the core cast, and you can read all about that in Comic Book Resources interview with the two.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
