No shame alert: Bend It Like Beckham is one of my favorite girl-power movies of all time. Not only did it introduce us to young Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Keira Knightley, and Parminder Nagra, but it also had a great message of multiculturalism and acceptance. And a sweet soundtrack. Now Bend It is getting the full musical treatment at the Phoenix Theatre in London—and here’s the opening number, UB2!

If you’re curious about why they’re bringing this piece to the stage now, check out this interview with awesome lady writer/director Gurinder Chadha and composer Howard Goodall. The musical will be launching this May! Who wants to fly over and see it with me?!
