Krem is a mercenary in Iron Bull’s group, the Chargers – and he also happens to be trans. That fact isn’t even brought up until about halfway through the game, when you sit down to have a conversation with the Chargers – and Iron Bull handles the situation with much aplomb.

I came across this part in my own game just last night and was incredibly impressed. Though your character is ignorant and asks some pretty insensitive questions, they are answered in a kind, informative, and decisive manner. The fact that BioWare has chosen to make a major side character in the game trans, and have a whole dialogue about it in-game, is a huge step forward in representation in mainstream gaming. Did I mention he’s voiced by Jennifer Hale?

What do you think of Krem’s representation?
