If you’re anything like us, you’re counting down the days until Booksmart hits theaters. The SXSW breakout comedy follows Molly (Lady Bird‘s Beanie Feldstein) and Amy (Last Man Standing‘s Kaitlyn Dever) as two nerdy high schoolers who spent all their time focused on getting good grades. Now on the last night of high school, they decide to blow it out by partying for the first time ever.

The film, billed as the female Superbad, is the directorial debut of actor Olivia Wilde, and features appearances by comedy legends like Jason Sudeikis, Jessica Williams, Will Forte, and Lisa Kudrow. While the film won’t hit theaters until May 24th, you can watch the uncensored first six minutes right now on YouTube.

The opening introduces us to our two nerdy protagonists, giving us a glimpse of the great comedic chemistry between Feldstein and Dever. We also get to meet several of their classmates, as well as Sudeikis as their apathetic principal and Williams as their beloved New York Times crossword-loving teacher.

There’s a lot to be excited about here: multiple queer characters, including Dever’s Amy, snappy smart dialogue, and a welcome mini-dance party. Booksmart has all the makings of a TMS favorite: after all, nerdy girls are basically our wheelhouse. We’re excited to share our thoughts with you once the film is released.

What did you think of the opening of Booksmart? Are you excited to see it?
