The above pictures were taken from a Federal Aviation Administration flight simulator, depicting what it is like for a pilot when a laser flashes into the cockpit; as one can see from the fourth photo, the laser completely blinds the pilot for the duration of the flash. The photos were taken with the aircraft on the ground at the take off position, with the laser remaining steady for the photos, though pilots were shown a one second flash of the laser in the simulator in order to represent how a handheld laser cannot remain steady on a moving target in real life.
