You know how people always talk about “the roller coaster of life”? This, loyal readers, is the roller coaster of death. It was designed to kill people. Julijonas Urbonas‘s The Euthanasia Coaster is a hypothetical ride that, if it was real, would humanely scare its rider to death by putting it through several phases of subtle physical trauma, “from euphoria to thrill, and from tunnel vision to loss of consciousness, and, eventually, death.”
Thanks to the marriage of the advanced cross-disciplinary research in aeronautics/space medicine, mechanical engineering, material technologies and, of course, gravity, the fatal journey is made pleasing, elegant and meaningful.
Ahhh, death. Beautiful, euphoric death.
