We’ve been hearing a lot of not-so-positive things out of Reddit lately, so it’s nice to be able to start off the week on a more positive note. Beware: Your heart might grow three sizes.

It was great enough that Parks and Recreation superfan Joshua Ritter got to visit the set of one of his favorite shows thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He got to bask in the presence of Nick Offerman’s moustache and hang with Amy Poehler, whom he describes as “ litt-rally one of the kindest and most loving people I’ve ever met. She just kept coming back for another conversation, hug, or picture.” Ritter even got “a ton of props from the show including a DVD case from the Pawnee Video store, some Sweetums merch, autographed stuff, prop books, etc.”

But the fun wasn’t over yet. Ritter (aka Signal-7_10-4) posted about his experience on Reddit, where it quickly got bumped to the front page because who doesn’t want to read about Amy Poehler being awesome? There the post was seen by an unexpected person…

…Ritter’s grandma.

“Josh!! I can’t believe you’re a Reddit person!!! I’m here every day!! Love you so much and it’s good to see you here!!!! Grama Cathie,” wrote Redditor assumenothing51.

Ritter, who posted further down on the thread that “I haven’t seen or talked to her in years probably,” responded with, “Hey Grandma! Long time no see! Hope all is well with you! Love you! Josh.” Lest you’re skeptical of the family connection, Ritter clarified later that assumenothing51 “knew my name. Her name matched up, and she was both in 1951, so it seems to check out with her username. Crazy, isn’t it?”
