Way back in April, astronauts on the International Space Station broke in their new HD projector setup by screening Gravity, because apparently watching a movie about being lost in space is totally appropriate to watch in space, right? Well, they’ve gone ahead and decided to do some well-needed research on upcoming Mars missions by watching… yeah, you guessed it, The Martian.

Personally, I’m really happy that the words “gonna science the shit out of it” have now been uttered in space. Sure, they were said by someone in a movie that was shown in space, but those words have totally been said beyond the atmosphere. How fantastic is that?

I really only have two questions to ask the astronauts who watched the movie, though: have you also seen Interstellar, and why do you think we keep sending Matt Damon up into freaking space seriously can we stop it already he just has the worst luck ugh oh my gosh.
