Here Are All the 2022 SFWA Nebula Award Finalists
The 57th Annual Nebula Awards, presented by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), will be held virtually on May 21, 2022. The Nebula Awards recognize excellence in science fiction and fantasy writing, awarding creators for novels, novellas, novelettes (works of fiction between 7,500 and 17,500 words long), short stories, middle grade and YA fiction, dramatic presentations (that is, TV series and films), and game writing. The awards will be held as part of the SFWA Nebula Conference, which will take place on May 20-22, 2022.
The Nebula Award winners are chosen by Full, Associate, and Senior members of SFWA, who first nominate works, and then vote on the finalists.
The nominees for 2022 have been released, so SFWA members can start voting and speculative fiction enthusiasts can start catching up on all the great books, movies, TV series, and games they might have missed this year.
Notably, one author has turned down her nomination. According to SFWA:
Author Martha Wells graciously declined her nomination as a novella finalist this year for Fugitive Telemetry: Murderbot Diaries, Book 6, published by Tordotcom. Wells felt that the Murderbot Diaries series has already received incredible praise from her industry peers and wanted to open the floor to highlight other works within the community.
