5 Best Scorpio Anime Characters
Tell me, are you a Scorpio?
“What’s your sign?” has become a common question to ask folks you’re getting to know. Knowing about astrological compatibility is really important to some people. Outside of dating, how many times have you thought about a character’s sign? Probably more than you’d like to admit. We become invested in characters to the point where they feel like friends. In anime there are plenty of dynamic characters and some of your favorites may even be Scorpios.
Before I dive into some great Scorpio characters, let’s brush up on details surrounding Scorpio as a sign. Here’s some information by way of Ask Astrology:
“Scorpio is the eighth sign in the Zodiac, ruled by Mars (traditionally) and Pluto, and ruling the Eighth House. Scorpio symbolizes regeneration, transformation, and sexuality.”
– Ask Astrology
“Scorpio people are intense and powerful. They act as change agents and prefer to move in the direction of a crisis rather than away from the crisis.”
– Ask Astrology
For the most part folks that fall under the Scorpio sign can be very passionate people. Sometimes even considered menaces (depending on the person). Let’s find out if that’s true of the following anime characters.
Dio Brando (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Who doesn’t love a villainous bisexual vampire? Most of us have thought a vampire was hot probably more than once. Especially if you’re a fan of horror. Dio (dub voice by Patrick Seitz) is still an important character in the JJBA universe. Even as a character that’s been long dead in the current anime adaptation. He’s got a very blunt personality and doesn’t hold back what he’s feeling. One might even say he’s emotionally explosive (especially when threatened). And if anyone oozes an undeniable sexuality it’s him.
Chrollo Lucilfer (Hunter x Hunter)
Leading a group of thieves is no easy task and being a levelheaded badass isn’t either. Chrollo (dub voice by Robbie Daymond) is one of those antagonists that barely comes across as one. He’s not trying to take over the world or anything typically ambitious. But he’s still such a memorable character in Hunter x Hunter (apparently even more so in the manga).
L (Death Note)
There’s no doubt that Death Note wouldn’t be the same series without L (dub voice by Alessandro Juliani). He’s an oddball character but not off putting. And his rivalry with Light (dub voice by Brad Swaile) is iconic and intense. His drive and determination is evident throughout the series (up until his death). Making his character all the more likable.
Armin Arlett (Attack on Titan)
While I’m not finished my first watch of Attack on Titan, Armin (dub voice by Josh Grelle) seems to evolve throughout the series. At first he comes across as cowardly but eventually grows into his own. Which is admirable in a character and for now I think he’s pretty great. Certainly worthy of being mentioned on this list of Scorpios.
Roronoa Zoro (ONE PIECE)
Given how many seasons and episodes there are of One Piece, it’s going to take me forever to catch up. Though even with my limited watching of this infamous series – Zoro (Christopher R. Sabat) is one of my favorites. He’s hotheaded, loves to fight, and is a good pirate. It’d be hard to picture the series without him. Even if he can be foolish at times!
