Everything is bad! At least, that’s what it’s felt like for the last few weeks—especially bad, anyway, because things have always been bad for a lot of people, and we seem to be getting farther from making them better, suddenly. So, programmer Nathan Pryor decided to create an Amazon Dash button that will absolutely decimate your bank account, because you’ll be pressing it pretty much non-stop at every atrocity you see.

Amazon Dash buttons, for the non-instant gratification addicts out there, are buttons that allow you to instantly order specific items from Amazon. They’re useful for household items that you always want to have in stock, because you can just press them when you’re running low, but as Pryor explained, they’re also limited to specific products without a little DIY-knowhow.

Acting on a suggestion from a friend, Pryor picked up Amazon’s more customizable “IoT button” and got to work figuring out how to get it to donate to the ACLU, which resulted in what you see in the video above.  Adventurous members of the resistance can try to recreate Pryor’s work for themselves with the code he’s made available, but we’d suggest that you reconsider using $5 as your donation amount and maybe starting with something a bit lower, because the way things have been going, you’ll probably be pressing like
