The first trailer for Disney•Pixar’s Coco showed off some amazing visuals and protagonist Miguel’s love of music. In the newest trailer, we get a closer look at the movie’s Day of the Dead premise and the detailed and colorful design of the Land of the Dead.

We’ve been looking forward to Coco not just because Pixar has an uncanny ability to obliterate your feelings in the warmest, most nostalgic way but also because of the movie’s dedication to authenticity and an all-Latino cast. The significance of a “love letter to Mexico” and a celebration of culture in the currently time is not lost on us either. I’m especially excited to see how Gael García Bernal’s trickster character will look like, after recently binging 2 seasons of his quirky music-loving maestro in Mozart in the Jungle.

To refresh your memory, here’s the synopsis for Coco:

“Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

Directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist Monsters University) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (Toy Story 3), Disney•Pixar’s Coco opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017.”

What did you think of the trailer? Are you excited for Coco?
