A New Look at the New Ghostbusters and Who Their Foe(s) Will Be
Sadly not Vigo the Carpathian.
No, Star Wars, you can not have every headline from now until you’re out of theaters. You’ve made enough money. Let’s be products of our generation and quickly move on to the next big thing: Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters is also the long-awaited revival of a beloved movie franchise that had its last installment in the ’80s, and it’s also helmed by some awesome women. Here they are pictured next to an overturned fire truck, so you know s***’s goin’ down:
But how did the fire truck get overturned? Ghosts? Ghost-related earthquake? Non-ghost-related Ghostbusters flipped it themselves because their faces were hidden on the otherwise nifty-looking posters despite being an awesome cast the marketing department should be falling over itself to promote? Who can say?
Maybe it was the ghosts of gangsters (and other ghosts of rapscallions past) that Entertainment Weekly says we can expect to see the Ghostbusters face off with in the movie (via ComingSoon.net):
Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.
But fighting ghosts is only part of the Ghostbusting equation. You also have to fight a skeptical public/jerky public officials, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens when the movie is unleashed from containment on July 15.
