Heroes Actor Joins Agents of SHIELD as Hulk-Chasing Colonel Glenn Talbot

It’s easy to forget that the Hulk has his own franchise, given that the character has been played by a different actor in each of his appearances (well, unless you count the end of Iron Man 3). It might also be that there hasn’t been a Hulk movie since before Marvel really started pushing the shared universe idea, which is a pity, because Mark Ruffalo did a pretty great job. But bits of the Hulk’s expanded cast have now been confirmed to appear in Agents of SHIELD.

Adrian Pasdar has been tapped to embody Colonel Glenn Talbot, a from-the-comics military character with a history of hunting down the Hulk. Canonically, he’s the man who proved to the public that Bruce Banner and the Hulk were one and the same, forcing the former to go on the lamb. He appeared in the first Hulk film, where he was played by Josh Lucas. In an interview with Marvel.com, Pasdar confirms that he has completed shooting for at least one episode, and hints that there will be more:

I can’t say much more but the mustache is in a locker and it’s being taken out and prepped as we speak for next week. Every show needs a jerk, [and] I guess I’m that guy.

The actor has his own previous ties to superheroism. Pasdar played Nathan Petrelli in Heroes, and there’s always the possibility that he’ll appear on the show again. But Marvel also isn’t reaching very far for an actor to play Talbot. This will actually be the fourth Marvel Universe character he’ll portray. He has previously voiced Hawkeye, Captain America, and Iron Man for The Super Hero Squad Show, the Black Panther animated series, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Hulk and the Agents of SMASH.
