The Akira Trailer With Simpsons Characters Is the Only Akira Adaptation We Need

While the potential live-action Akira movie still looms ominously on the horizon, we’d much rather watch this Simpsons version. It’ll probably wind up being truer to the original in the long run anyway.

They stayed pretty close to the source material, and the artists of the Bartkira parody have even put together their own schoolyard legend to lend some authenticity to the trailer:

An attempt to appeal to American consumers without having to spend a lot of money. Until a changing of the guard decided the kids needed more Poochie and it was lost…until today.
