Amber Rose Continues to Slay, Publishes TIME Op-Ed “How I Learned To Stop Caring What People Think”

Yesterday, after Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa’s Twitter feud, Amber Rose fired off a clapback at West that echoed throughout all of space and time. If you listen really carefully, you can still hear it. But Rose’s momentum hasn’t stopped yet.

She recently published an op-ed in TIME that covers her feelings on the double standards that exist between men and women–being judged for things that men get renown and recognition for, and things like that. Titled “How I Learned To Stop Caring What People Think,” it’s a great look into the life of someone who has always been–and continues to be–her own independent self.

Rose summed up her feelings about other people’s opinions, writing:

What I’ve realized is that, when you care too much, you’re not living at your full potential. When you really stop caring about what people say, that’s when you really start living. It’s such an amazing feeling.

A bit of context: yesterday West got into a feud with Khalifa on Twitter. He went on a bit of a tweetstorm, shooting out a really long chain of tweets at the other rapper. A ton of memes were born as a result of his tweetstorm–which is funny and all–but one thing in West’s chain treaded over the line into misogyny. He essentially dragged his ex, author Amber Rose, into the argument.

In a now-deleted Tweet, West said, “You let a stripper trap you,” referring to Rose and Khalifa’s child. Aside from how wrong it is to drag someone’s child into an internet fight (like, for real), he tried to shame Rose for her work as a stripper with his condescending tone towards Khalifa.

And then, in one of history’s greatest clapbacks, Rose put West on blast when she tweeted the following gem, changing the context of that one emoji forever:

Damn.
