Never-Before-Seen Footage of Amelia Earhart From 1937 Surfaces
To coincide with Amelia Earhart’s Last Photo Shoot, an e-book about Earhart’s photoshoot with Albert Bresnik, video of the pilot prepping for her ill-fated flight around the world, during which she vanished over the pacific ocean, has been released.
In the book, author Nicole Swinford writes about the photo shoot in May, 1937 at Burbank Airport (now Bob Hope Airport) based on the footage in the film—though others contend that the footage dates from earlier that year in March. It was discovered by Bresnik’s nephew, John Bresnik, and reportedly gives a more personal view of Earhart than her public persona.
You can get a brief look at some of the footage above in promotion for the book, and hopefully more will be made publicly available in the future.
