Anne Trailer Proclaims Girls Can Do Anything a Boy Can Do, and More

Recommended Videos

We’ve been excited about Netflix streaming CBC’s adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s beloved Anne of Green Gables since it was first announced—not only out of love for our puffy-sleeved orphan Anne Shirley, but because the eight-episode production included an incredibly talented team consisting of Breaking Bad‘s Moira Walley-Beckett, director Niki Caro, and more. The streaming service was clearly thrilled as well, as they issued a “Red Alert” that gave us a first look at Amybeth McNulty’s Anne, who will no doubt pull at your heartstrings and win your love.

In the first full trailer, we see Anne’s arrival at the Cuthbert house and her heartbreaking realization that they had wanted a boy from the orphanage and not her. We also get a look at her first encounter with schoolmates, including Gilbert’s “Carrots!” moment and the beautiful friendship that blossoms between Anne and Diana. McNulty looks exactly as you’d picture Anne and every scene so far looks gorgeous.

Anne comes to Netflix May 12th. I’ll definitely be checking this out, how about you, bosom friends?
