Massive Ant Colony Filled in with Concrete, Excavated

By “freezing” an ant colony with concrete and examining its structure, the scientists in the video above (taken from the documentary Ants! Nature’s Secret Power) were able to examine a remarkable structure, complete with fungus gardens, rubbish-pits, and ventilation tunnels. The narrator of the video likens the ant’s labors to building the Great Wall of China.
