Are The My Hero Academia Movies Canon?
There are some things about the My Hero Academia universe that I wish weren’t canon. Well, only one thing really. This thing. I want this thing to just be a fucked up grimdark fanfic written by someone who wants to dance on the ashes of the burning world. I want my secretary to slap it on my desk so I can read it, cry, fire a bunch of people to make me feel better, ball it up, throw it out, and forget about it on my way to my three martini lunch. But I can’t do that. I don’t even have a secretary. Or a desk. I’m writing this in an open field because I burned down my house in protest of the creators deciding it would be a good idea to kill that character. But I digress.
So … are the movies canon or not? Or do you need a second to clean yourself up?
No I’m fine, really. I swear. I’ve befriended a couple of woodland creatures and there is currently litter of baby possums living in the hood of my sweatshirt. I am aware that it’s summer and I am sweating but I have no pouch to keep them in because whatever cruel god responsible for the accident of my birth decided to not make me a marsupial despite knowing my life choices would lead me to this moment where I require a pouch. BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION: yes, the creator of My Hero Academia acknowledged that the movies are canon. And if that’s the case, I am going to ask my possum children to bring me a pen and paper and an envelope to so I can write a tearstained letter to said creator imploring him to write another canon movie where that character is canonically resurrected. I am patient. I will bide my time. And someday soon my children and I shall frolic in the sun with the knowledge that that character is alive again.
