Batman: Arkham Knight‘s Launch Trailer Muses on How the Batman Died

See what I did there?

Batman hasn’t had an easy life. Not by any stretch of the imagination. The poor guy could use a break, really.

But Batman: Arkham Knight‘s launch trailer might be taking that suggestion a little too seriously. The voice over muses on what makes a hero, and of course, this being Batman, that means being willing to die and make the ultimate sacrifice. It’s moody, it’s emotional, it’s got British rock band Muse’s new song, and it’d brood in the corner monologuing to itself about good and evil if it had the chance.

The trailer’s also full of Batman’s pals in combat backing up the Knight. Pretty sure there was a peek at Oracle, Nightwing, Robin, and Catwoman in action.

Batman: Arkham Knight releases on June 23rd. Will you be picking it up?
