Harry Potter Fan Film Shows What Aurors Actually Do [VIDEO]
This is just like magic!
We learned a small portion of what an Auror’s job is like in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the following books but a lot of us were left wanting more. See Aurors, the elite unit of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement for the Ministry of Magic, are trained to investigate witches, wizards, or other magical creatures meddling in the Dark Arts. In other words, everyone thinks they’re really cool, not to mention a little bit nuts (Mad Eye Moody was an Auror you’ll recall). It’s doubtful we’ll ever get a book on the life of Aurors from Rowling so it’s really great that some fans took it upon themselves to expand on the story. This is a trailer for Auror’s Tale, directed by Leo Kei Angelos with a screenplay from Cassandra Johnstone and made by a ton of other HP fans.
According to the video description, the events take place in New York City and the project will not feature any pre-existing characters from Rowling’s series. “Hawthorne is the force’s newest recruit and the dark criminals’ latest threat. Plunging into the nightmare that his occupation offers, he makes quick enemies of the most depraved wizard gang in America: the ever violent, ever twisted Hellhounds.” And well, the effects are very impressive. If you like what you see, you have a ten-part web series to look forward to.
