Why Must Marvel Torture Us With This Avengers: Endgame Synopsis?
The official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame came out, and it’s pretty much exactly what you’d think out of Marvel. With limiting us in spoilers, letting us know very little about the actual movie, and even giving the actors inaccurate scripts for Avengers: Infinity War, the Russos and the team over at Marvel are making sure that we don’t know what happens in the final battle against Thanos.
CBR published the official synopsis from Marvel for the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame, nd all it pretty much says is that the Avengers are going to fight against Thanos .. .okay then?
“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.”
I get that Marvel has to keep some secrets—they have to be prepared for any kind of spoiler leaking before the movie comes out—but we’d also like some kind of information to what this movie is going to be. Sure, we can kind of figure out from the trailers that the Avengers are struggling to cope with surviving the snap.
Steve Rogers going to grief counseling to cope with his survivor’s guilt is at least one aspect we understand and can see. We know that they’re all gearing up for another battle, and now, we know that Carol Danvers is joining them to take on Thanos, but other than that, we just have speculation. Getting an official synopsis that is basically what we figured the movie was going to be isn’t exactly helping.
We’re at the point in our desperation for more news that we here at the Mary Sue have begun writing our own scenes for Avengers: Endgame just to keep us going. Granted, there isn’t that much time left to wait; the movie is a little over a month away from being released. I don’t want to sit here for the next month waiting for more news on Endgame. I want it now!
Will we survive this next month? Will we survive Endgame? The verdict is still out, but at least now we know that the movie is … just what we thought it was going to be: The Avengers taking on Thanos and trying to rectify the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters this April 26th and … will we make it until then?
