The Teaser for Aziz Ansari’s Master of None Makes Us Laugh/Think
Anyone who’s kept up with Aziz Ansari’s recent stand-up routines and his new book Modern Romance knows that the culture of modern dating fascinates him — so it makes sense that his upcoming series on Netflix, Master of None, looks to be a semi-autobiographical romantic comedy. Ansari plays “Dev,” a 30-year-old actor living in New York, dealing with the structural racism of auditions and casting calls, intermixed with the usual foibles of his dating life.
In the short teaser above, Dev and the other characters on the show discuss racism, sexism, ageism, and any number of other issues through casual conversations that are poignant and funny in turns. In other words, this show looks like it’s going to be pretty darn good, if this short teaser is any indication about the humor and observations to come.
Master of None starts streaming on November 6. Are you planning to check it out?
