Dedicated Dad Turns Baby Daughter Into Power Loader From Aliens
Senior Editor Glen Tickle, take notice. This is what your daughter needs.
The best reason to have a baby? You can use it to pilot a nearly to-scale replica of the P5000 exoskeleton from the Power Loader in Aliens. I think I might have just found my biological clock.
Proud Papa and master cosplayer Carsten Riewe provided more details about the costume on his youtube channel earlier this week:
The arms and legs are full moveable and the top-light and LED were powered by an 12 Volt battery pack stored in the backpack. The on/off switch is in the left arm. Also in the backpack a Bluetooth boombox ist installed to play mechanical robot sound fx or music if preferred. It took 100 working hours to finnish [sic] the costume and I built it for the “Karneval”-Parade in my hometown in Germany February 2014 .
Riewe’s masterpiece also comes with a built-in boombox, because the pair aren’t sufficiently conspicuous without musical announcement. But where could they be hitching a ride to? The alien queen’s egg chamber?
Enjoy the fun while it lasts, Riewe. Pretty soon she’ll be all grown up and piloting exoskeletons on her own.

- Hopefully this baby will experience a cosplay culture where this doesn’t happen
- However, there were some impressive finds at Toronto ComiCon 2014
- Mall cops call actual cops on cosplayers
