The Internet Had Some Fun Dreaming Up Who Kamala Harris Should Pick for VP

We live in unprecedented times. Every day there’s something new we all have to deal with. This time, it’s Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential race with just a few months left before the November election. Great! He did also tweet out his pick for president: Kamala Harris.

The current Vice President of the United States got an overwhelming amount of support online when the news broke and it was one of the first moments in recent history where everyone seemed to be very happy about the world at large and hopeful for once. While we all collectively agreed that Harris should be our pick for president, that then opened the door up for speculating about her own VP pick.

The thing about the internet is that we’ve all been doom scrolling for so long that the minute we have something fun to talk about, we latch on. So that’s what happened with the conversation about a vice president. The minimum age requirement for a VP and/or presidential pick is 35 years old and social media ran with that, throwing in their suggestions.

While there were people who were taking this moment seriously, many of us were just happy to be able to make jokes about something and have a good time on the internet for once. Many were making jokes about how white the pick was going to need to be to sway those … less open voters.

Like…everyone decided it was going to be a white man.

Some were less specific about their picks and went more with a vibe approach.

There were, of course, people who wanted to just bring the Kennedy family back in and have Jack Schlossberg as her VP.

A lot of people wanted it to be Glen Powell … like a lot

Everyone’s current favorite boy is Glen Powell. With the release of both Hit Man and Twisters, we can’t get enough of him. So the minute all the jokes about getting a 35-year-old started popping up, Powell’s name got thrown into the ring.

Some were making valid points! Twisters made over 80 million dollars its opening weekend. If that movie is that successful, think of the donations when Powell is on the ticket.

I personally think there are a couple of actors you could add to the ticket to make that win a guarantee.

Look, maybe this is the way to go. You get someone who is good at politics and then you get a really popular actor to seal the deal for you. It is a win-win situation overall!

Whoever Harris chooses, this weekend was a very fun time to be on social media.
