Black Friday Is Your Excuse to Buy A Wii U & Splatoon So You May As Well

Recommended Videos

Black Friday, a.k.a. America’s annual celebration of capitalism, cordially invites you to take the next step into the new console generation. $300 is a lot of money to drop on a fancy technology device — even if that price describes a bundle including a game or two — so you’ve gotta make sure to choose wisely. Black Friday has you covered when it comes to console bundles, but if you ask me, the Wii U bundle is your best bet.

Toys R Us and Walmart both have a bundle for the Wii U that includes Super Smash Brothers and Splatoon. Walmart’s got the cheaper option at $249 (rather than the usual $279 price tag), or Toys R Us will give you that same bundle for $279.98. Why would I recommend the Wii U — and also those two games in particular? Well, they’re both great games, and the Wii U also has some other titles that I really enjoyed (e.g. Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8).

There are some good deals available for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 as well, but I haven’t seen any bundles that include Rise of the Tomb Raider or Fallout 4. Not that there’s anything wrong with the special editions of Uncharted and Gears of War, but they wouldn’t be console sellers for me personally.

What do you all think? Planning to put any money down on a new console during the post-Thanksgiving rush?
