Bluthfighter Parody Video Makes Living Without an Arrested Development Fighting Game Seem Pointless [Video]

Seriously, how is this not a thing I am playing literally right this second? What kind of God would allow a thing like that to happen?

A few weeks ago, we brought you the trailer for LEGO Breaking Bad, a brilliant concept for a video game that will probably never see the light of day. Now, the animator behind that piece of awesome is back with another mashup we just can’t resist — a Street Fighter-style fighting game featuring the characters from Arrested Development. Brian Anderson’s proof of concept features a battle to the death between Gob and Tobias, with guest tag-ins from the likes of Tony Wonder and Carl Weathers. It is, in other words, everything we never knew we wanted in a video game and then some.

As awesome as this demo is, though, it’s just the tip of the iceberg. I challenge you to watch the whole thing without visions of Lucille tossing flaming vodka martinis at her opponents, Buster’s hook-hand fighting style, and George Senior’s inevitable combo breaker (No Touching!). And why stop there? Special bars could power signature moves like summoning a herd of Hot Cops attack your opponent — or strip, I guess — or a terrifying Lucille Bluth-to-Gangie transformation. Destructible, interactive levels like the Sudden Valley model home, The Gothic Castle, and Wee Britain? Yes, please. And can anyone honestly say they don’t want to pit the Shaolin-inspired blind monk martial arts of Maggie Lizer against the raw power of Rocky Richter? That would be a battle for the ages and you all know it.

What I’m saying is please, Mitchell Hurwitz, license this immediately and let this beautiful mirage become a real and lasting thing.

In related news, Brian Anderson needs to GET OUT OF MY HEAD and stop stealing my dreams and then turning them into trailers for video games I’ll never really be able to play.
