Bryan Fuller’s Mockingbird Lane is Officially No More
Awwwwww
Fans of lavishly designed, quirky, pseudo-fantastical Bryan Fuller productions have been expecting this for a long time. According to the showrunner’s twitter, NBC has officially and finally passed on the ambitous remake of The Munsters.
I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.

I caught the pilot of the series, repackaged as a standalone Halloween special (you might still be able to watch it on NBC.com) and can see why NBC was a little wary: it pretty clearly cost a lot of money in sets and special effects (both digital and physical). Unless the thing was a success on a huge scale, it was probably not going to pay for itself.
The good news for Fuller fans is that this leaves him free for a number of interesting projects, including but not limited to a Silence of the Lambs prequel series with Gillian Anderson, Mads Mikkelsen, Laurence Fishburne, Eddie Izzard, and Gina Torres; and the rumored Pushing Daisies stage musical, which would actually give the series a proper conclusion.
Which would you rather see?
