Cape Breton Island in Canada Offers Refuge if Trump Wins the Presidency

Recommended Videos

Friends, if the worst should come to pass and Donald J. Trump wins the presidency, then Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia is where you’ll find me. The tourism department for Cape Breton Island recently put up a promotional website called “Cape Breton if Donald Trump Wins“. It says that if Trump wins the presidency, then perhaps those of us who may be looking to “get the hell out of” the country could move to Canada.

The website really hits on a ton of issues at play in America today. It advises:

Don’t wait until Donald Trump is elected president to find somewhere else to live! Start now, that way, on election day, you just hop on a bus to start your new life in Cape Breton, where women can get abortions, Muslim people can roam freely, and the only ‘walls’ are holding up the roofs of our extremely affordable houses.

Also, it features a ton of pretty photos of the area, which I guess one could find on any tourism website, but this one has the unique benefit of offering beautiful refuge away from the greasy dumpster fire that is American politics.

So. I know we’ve got readers worldwide. Any of you Nova Scotians have anything to say about this? Would y’all be okay with a sudden influx of Americans heading into your part of the world? Because that is a thing that is likely to happen.
