Chris Pratt’s Star Wars is Jurassic Park, Apparently Hasn’t Seen Star Wars

I kid, I kid. Mostly. Sir, I am the sort of person who corrects people on which movie took place on Isla Nublar and which movies featured Isla Sorna. But Star Wars is my Star Wars, and Jurassic Park is one brilliant film, one decent sequel, and one movie so hilariously bad that it is almost a parody of its own franchise.

Still, I’m glad to be getting a fan in the lead of the new movie:

“For me, Jurassic Park was really kind of my Star Wars,” Pratt told QMI Agency Sunday at Legoland California, where he and fellow Lego Movie castmembers were promoting the animated comedy.

“I lined up at the theatre to see it, I saw it opening night, I saw every sequel, I’ve seen it a whole bunch of times… for me that was my big movie, I think I was 13 or 14 when it came out,” Pratt said.

“And so it’s a big deal for me to be any part of that, let alone this part I’m going to be playing. I’m thrilled about it.”

Pratt Will be playing an ex-military character who clashes with the movie’s lady-lead, Bryce Dallas Howard, a corporate scientist. When Howard mentioned her involvement in the movie, she characterized it as a job where she’d be “chasing dinosaurs.” We know the sequel is set two decades or more after the last three films. Are we going to see a reprise of the dinosaur capturing plotlines of Jurassic Park: The Lost World? Can Chris Pratt just play Muldoon, but a main character?
