10-Year-Old Empowers Other Bullied Kids With an All-Sizes Clot…10-year-old Ify didn’t let bullies get her down about her weight, and now her all-sizes clothing line, Chubii Line, is showing at NYFW.

This girl makes me even prouder to be from Queens than I already was! Egypt “Ify” Ufele is a 10-year-old fashion phenom from Queens, New York, who has managed to not only stick it to the kids who bullied her over her weight in school by creating her own plus-size fashion line, but she’s also become the youngest person ever to debut a line at New York Fashion Week!
Her line is called Chubiiline, and it’s inspired by her African roots as well as her desire to see more options for people with larger bodies. Anyone starting a fashion line is impressive – starting one at 10 years old using your grandmother’s sewing machine is next-level. However, it’s sad to think that the thing that gave her the focus to succeed in doing this so early was the fact that she was having a rough time at school. According to XO Necole, Ufele dealt with being called names, having her lunch slapped out of her hands, and even being assaulted – she was once stabbed with a pencil! – all because of her weight.
Meanwhile, as she points out on her Instagram, appropriately called “Bullychasers,” her weight has a lot to do with the fact that she spent much of her childhood in hospitals:

However, none of that matters as long as she has the support of her “rock” – her mother, Dr. Reba Perry – and her seamstress grandmother, Nellie Rembert, who ultimately was the one who helped Ufele channel her anger over the bullying into her creative pursuits. And check out this focus:

Now that she’s taken New York Fashion Week by storm, her next goal is to start mass-producing her designs and selling them on her website. I, for one, can’t wait to see what this awesome girl does next! Keep up with this future plus-size fashion mogul on Facebook and Twitter!
