Maria Hill is a character to watch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, her immediate superiors are either officially dead or just royally pissed off the board of shadowy figures that apparently has enough power to allow American government employees to make in-no-way-covert strikes on German soil and not cause an international incident.

But what does Cobie Smulders, once Joss Whedon‘s pick for Wonder Woman, have to say about her future in the MCU? Crave Online talked to her and Kat Dennings (Thor‘s Darcy) about a number of the MCU’s female characters and what Winter Soldier, The Dark World, Agents of SHIELD, and even Age of Ultron.

Fans of Darcy will be happy to know that according to Dennings, she’s got an even bigger role in Thor: The Dark World than its predecessor. SHIELD hierarchy got something of a shakeup in The Avengers, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that Smulders says Maria Hill’s interactions with other characters will have shifted from where they were in their last teamup. When the entire first episode of Agents of SHIELD was aired at Comic-Con, it was revealed that Smulders made a cameo as Hill. Between that, and her regular gig How I Met Your Mother wrapping up its last season, plenty of folks want to know if she’ll be joining the cast of SHIELD as a regular, but she’s got no conclusive answer just yet:

It was announced and then all these questions come out. They are an amazing cast. They have amazing story lines and if they want to write one that involves me, I’d be happy to do it, but we’ll see.

As for whether there’ll be a part for Hill in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it’s too early to tell, but Smulders says she’s brushing up on her Ultron comics any way. And just in case anyone was wondering, she says that Winter Soldier will provide an answer to the question: Where was SHIELD when an international terrorist organization infiltrated the White House and kidnapped the president in Iron Man 3? And even better? Get ready for a lot of focus on Black Widow.

She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
