Geek idol Conan O’Brien will be coming to TBS to host a late-night show this fall, once his nationwide comedy tour wraps up, reports CNN’s Marquee blog. Looks like the Twitter billboard campaign may have worked after all.

George Lopez, who currently hosts a show on TBS at 11pmEDT, will be bumped back to 12am to make room for Conan’s new venture.

From the Marquee blog:

According to a press release sent out by the cable network (which, like CNN, is a unit of Time Warner), the comedian is joining TBS to host a late-night show that is expected to debut in November. O’Brien’s show will be followed on TBS’ schedule by George Lopez’s “Lopez Tonight,” which will move to midnight.

“In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theater, and now I’m headed to basic cable,” O’Brien said in the statement. “My plan is working perfectly.”

And from Conan’s Twitter feed:

By virtue of airing at 11, the new show will put Conan in competition with another cable TV funnyman: Jon Stewart, whose Daily Show airs at 11pmEDT as well.

Another thing to get pumped about: According to Gossip Cop, this means that Andy Richter and the band “will presumably be back.” Here’s hoping for more Robot Opera Singer Who Fights Crime.

Update: TBS has released a succinct new promotional clip for the show, which morphs “I’m with Coco” into “Coco is with TBS”:
