Watch Russian Cosmonauts Spacewalk to Install Camera Equipment Outside the Recently Repaired ISS [Live]

Honestly, we'd just watch them climb around the outside of the space station all day.

[Update 10:30AM EST] The ISS is in daylight again, and the view is amazing.

[Update 9:30AM EST] Unfortunately, it’s night for the space station now, so you can’t see the view of the Earth from earlier, but here’s what it looked like:

This gives us the most intense sense of vertigo.

Commander Oleg Kotov and Flight Engineer Sergey Ryazanskiy are installing camera equipment and replacing old seismic activity instruments with updated technology in a seven-hour spacewalk today. You can watch the Earth float by underneath them (if that doesn’t make you vomit) as they demonstrate how awesome tech support is in space.

The spacewalk began at 8AM EST, so you should be able to watch them float around out there until about 3PM EST if everything goes as planned. This spacewalk isn’t related to the ones earlier in the week that successfully fixed the station’s cooling system, but it’s nice to see that things have returned to normal aboard the ISS—as normal as things get in orbit.
