So, the Trailer for David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis Looks Intriguing
After debuting this spring at Cannes, legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg’s latest outting Cosmopolis will finally be opening domestically on August 17. This new trailer gives us a tantalizing glimpse of what we have in store. If you ever wanted to see terrible things happen to Robert Pattinson, this probably the film for you. See the video, after the break.
Perhaps the most exciting thing to me is that this movie appears to have hallmarks of classic sci-fi Cronenberg films, like The Fly, Videodrome, and eXistenZ. The crazy high-tech car, the hints of Cronenberg’s trademark sadomasochistic body horror — it’s all pointing to a good ride. And while Pattinson may have made his name in Twilight, his appearance in this film may give him the chance to show he’s more than a sparkly teen harthrob vampire.
Also, it looks like he shoots a hole through his hand. Should be fun.
