This Is the Beep the Curiosity Rover Sends NASA Everyday So They Know She’s Okay

And it makes Bobak Ferdowsi really happy.

This picture from Bobak Ferdowsi’s Instagram account shows the waveform of the status beep that Curiosity sends back to Earth from the surface of Mars to let NASA and Ferdowsi know she’s doing fine.

It was posted almost two years ago, but Ferdowsi tweeted it today in response to blogger Jason Major quoting Ferdowsi saying the beep makes him happy, presumably as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of NASA and the JPL’s Deep Space Network going on today.

You can follow a lot more updates about the Deep Space Network using the hashtag #DSN50 on Twitter.
