Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe Joins Joe Hill’s Film Project Horns
Meanwhile...
Daniel Radcliffe is continuing along the bumpy road post-Potterdom. His next acting project will be Horns, comic writer and novelist Joe Hill’s supernatural thriller about a man who wakes up one day to find…you guessed it, horns growing from his head.
The film is being directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes) and is getting an adapted screenplay from Keith Bunin. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Radcliffe will play Ig Perrish, the lead suspect in the violent rape and killing of his girlfriend. Hung over from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his head. Their power drives people to confess sins and give in to selfish impulses — an effective tool in his quest to discover the circumstances of his girlfriend’s death and for exacting revenge.”
The actor’s first film following the Harry Potter series, The Woman in Black, wound up doing pretty well for itself at the box office, making $127 million worldwide. Sticking with the fantasy/thriller genres seems to be working for Radcliffe it seems. Horns was on the New York Times’ best-seller list for six weeks and Hill has a large following thanks to his other novels Heart Shaped Box and 20th Century Ghosts as well as his IDW comic Locke & Key.
“After reading Joe Hill’s cult book, I couldn’t resist temptation to dive into the devilish underworld and reinvent a universal myth,” said Aja. “Horns is a wild ride of sin and crime, with a love story in its heart.”
Did any of you see Radcliffe in The Woman in Black? How do you think he did playing a character other than Harry Potter?
