You may remember Marvel’s Team Thor mockumentary, in which Thor navigated life as a normal dude on Earth. Thor was dealing with feelings of insecurity prompted by his Avengers friends not including him in their Civil War fun. Darryl is the “normal guy” who had to deal with a somewhat insufferable god as a roommate. Thor is now gone, and Darryl has moved from Australia to Los Angeles … which has necessitated finding someone new with whom he can share an apartment. Enter The Grandmaster.

Just because Taika Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok doesn’t mean he’s gotten “too good” for awesome comedic shorts, though it probably helps that he gets to cast people like Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo for his shorts. He’s directed and shot the first two parts of this Thor/Darryl mockumentary (“Team Thor”), and has returned for a third, starring Jeff Goldblum’s hilarious Grandmaster from Ragnarok.

Here’s the official description of “Team Darryl” from Marvel:

“Exclusive Short/Team Darryl – Fresh off being unseated as the ruler of Sakaar, the Grandmaster makes his way to Earth to start a new life. It’s been over a year since Thor left Australia and Darryl has been struggling to pay his rent. Now Darryl needs a new roommate to help make the monthly payments. Unfortunately for Darryl, the Grandmaster was the only one who answered Darryl’s “Roommate Needed” ad and with no viable options, the Grandmaster moves in.”

This is a bit surprising, considering how things ended for The Grandmaster in Ragnarok. Yet, somehow he escaped the planet that has grown to hate him and ended up on Earth. And he is loving it!

The Grandmaster is very, very amused by humanity and its cultures, but also seems to be missing his longtime assistant/bodyguard Topaz (played by Rachel House). Thankfully, he’s just moved in with someone who might fit the bill perfectly. Darryl!

Um … maybe not?

Either way, I can’t wait to see how this continues, as it is hella fun.

Thor: Ragnarok comes out on digital platforms on February 20th and on Blu-ray March 6th.
