Oh My God, Deadpool 2′s Celine Dion Music Video Must Have Been So Much Fun to Make

The Guardians of the Galaxy movies may be the current superhero films most known for their music, but Deadpool 2 is giving them a run for their money with an extremely Deadpool original song and music video—by Celine Dion. They’ve gotta find some way to spend the bigger budget they landed after the success of the original, I guess, and this was probably the perfect way to do it.

The video features Celine Dion absolutely rocking the hell out of a tongue-in-cheek version of what you’d expect from a big budget movie’s original Celine Dion music video, along with the dancing Deadpool we all knew, deep in our hearts, that we desperately needed. Go ahead and give it a watch, and good luck getting the song out of your head for the rest of the day—or your favorite parts of Deadpool’s dance routine, of which there are likely to be several.

If you watch to the end, Deadpool himself calls out Dion’s too-perfect performance for being completely out of place for the franchise, which only reminds me of Ryan Reynolds’ recent comments that his ideal scenario for a Deadpool 3 is stripping away all the big-budget trappings and getting scrappy and creative like they had to for the original. He’d rather “just swing for the fences, and break all kinds of weird barriers, and do stuff that no one else can do,” and getting a song and music video like this to work for a superhero movie certainly does that.

If this video is what we get from Deadpool on a bigger budget, though, I’m not entirely sure I agree with him that it needs to go away for a third movie to happen. Although, who knows? Maybe NSYNC would fit that budget.
