USA Today premiered images from the Guillermo del Toro produced, Jorge R. Gutierrez directed animated feature Book of Life, which we’d previously seen concept art and were just all-around really excited for. Take a look!

From USA Today:

The wild, 3-D animated tale (due out Oct. 17) features a love triangle among three childhood friends, Manolo (voice by Diego Luna), Maria (Zoe Saldana) and [Channing] Tatum’s Joaquin, who are stirred up after the unpredictable gods wager on which man will win Maria’s heart.

This journey takes [Monolo] from the Land of the Living to the Land of the Remembered, where people who have lived complete lives, and are remembered among the living, go after they die. A final, daunting destination is The Land of the Forgotten, where those who have died with unfulfilled lives dwell.
