A DIY 9x9x9 LED Cube Music Visualizer [Video]
If you don’t have Winamp handy, or want to stare at a three dimensional physical object rather than a flat LCD, YouTube user konakid171 has a project for you. The above video showcases a do-it-yourself 9 x 9 x 9 LED cube that lights up in rhythm with music.
The cube is a 9 x 9 x 9 matrix of LEDs, which are powered by three LED drivers, and controlled by an Arduino Mega. The cube syncs up to the music via custom audio circuitry that figures out the beat of the music currently playing, then translates it to the LEDs. Konakid171 said the project took ten weeks of designing and building, so if you start now, you can have your very own music visualizer cube finished in time for the holidays.
