Just last night we were excitedly reporting on Hawkgirl’s addition to The CW superhero/villain spinoff show… that… show…

Yeah, that one. So far it’s set to star Brandon Routh (as The Atom), Victor Garber (as Dr. Martin Stein), Wentworth Miller (as Captain Cold), Caity Lotz (as ???), and the just announced Ciara Renée (as Hawkgirl). Now they’ve gone and added none other than Rip Hunter to the team.

Yup, one of DC Comics’ famous time travel experts. Or, as Deadline describes him:

Rip Hunter, described as a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit.

Sound like anyone to you?

Anyway, this is cool news to me. I’ve enjoyed Darvill’s post Doctor Who work on Broadchurch and am excited to see him take on another geeky project. What do you think about the casting and how do you think Rip’s addition will work in the story/CW superhero universe?
