Doctor Who Script Leak Leads to Disciplinary Action

They'll be sorry. So sorry.

Last week, we learned that both the scripts for the first 5 episodes of the new Doctor Who series as well as an extremely rough cut of the first episode were leaked. BBC Worldwide has begun investigating how exactly this happened in order to pursue disciplinary action.

There aren’t any new details on the investigation from BBC Worldwide other than a statement issued about the incident.

BBC Worldwide has taken this issue extremely seriously, and disciplinary action has been implemented as a result of the incident. […] Our sincere apologies again to Steven Moffat, the cast and production team who toil long hours to make the show in Cardiff, the BBC, and of course the fans who expect so much better.

In case you missed it, the leaked scripts and episodes both came from the same location. Because the episode is being simulcast worldwide on August 23, information needed to be sent to BBC partners around the world so that translations could be ready. The Latin America headquarters located in Miami are where the leak originated, so the server has now been shut down to prevent any further leaks.

As I learned at ConnectiCon last weekend, not everybody enjoys spoilers. We promise we won’t post any here, so make sure you don’t either!
