Donald Trump Proves He Believes In Make-Believe, Like the So-Called “Woman Card,” For Instance
Caught your speech, @realDonaldTrump. About that “woman’s card”…https://t.co/kKaHWISchy

Now that Donald Trump has been leading the Republican primaries pretty much everywhere he goes, he’s giving us a sneak peek at what his campaign rhetoric will be like should he face off against current Democratic frontrunner, Hillary Clinton.
In a recent campaign speech, he attributed Clinton’s success to “playing the woman card” saying, “Frankly, if she didn’t, she would do very poorly. If she were a man and she was the way she is, she would get virtually no votes.” Clinton herself responded admirably as you can see in the above video. Now, most people would consider appealing to a majority of voters a smart move and not think to criticize it as a flaw, but Trump has never been like most people.
Considering that the abysmal way Trump himself treats and talks about women could be seen as a microcosm of the way women are generally treated in this country (and the world), you’d think the idea of there being a “woman card” to be played at all wouldn’t even occur to him. Like, it would be so stupid an idea that even Trump, as he knowingly plays to the lowest common denominator, wouldn’t think to utter it. And yet.
In case there’s any confusion, appealing to the needs of a marginalized group is not “playing a card.” It’s doing the right thing. Now, consistently appealing to the lowest common denominator of the privileged? That could be considered “playing the racist card.”
