Downton Abbey Uses Water Bottle Goof To Raise Money For Charity

"Caaaaaaaarsooooooooon!"

What do you do when you make a giant goof and leave a water bottle in the frame of a 1920s era photoshoot? Turn it into something hugely positive, of course! (Or, if you’re us, photoshop tentacle dildos into the picture.) The link directs you to WaterAid’s website, an organization which aims to get safe drinking water and sanitation to people throughout the world.

An ITV spokesperson told WaterAid, “After seeing the reaction the picture caused earlier this week, the cast and crew came up with the idea of turning some of this attention towards an issue around water that really matters. They hope that by posing for this picture they will be able to raise awareness and amplify the work of international charity – WaterAid.” Barbara Frost, Chief Executive of WaterAid added, “Every pound and penny WaterAid receives will be matched by the UK Government, which means we can reach twice as many people with desperately needed clean water and sanitation.”

I still like our idea, but I suppose this is the better outcome.
