Started from Degrassi, now we're here.

Yesterday, Drake dropped the music video for his new single, “I’m Upset,” where he gave all the stans something they never knew they always wanted: a Degrassi: The Next Generation reunion. Before he became a music superstar, most of us knew Drake as Aubrey Graham, a.k.a. Jimmy Brooks, on Degrassi: TNG, the basketball star who was paralyzed after getting shot in a school shooting. In the video, Drake goes to his high school reunion and is reunited with the class of 2007.

Drake recruited many of his former co-stars, including Dalmar Abuzeid (Danny Van Zandt), Sarah Barrable-Tishauer (Liberty Van Zant), Paula Brancati (Jane Vaughn), Stefan Brogen (Archie “Snake” Simpson), Lauren Collins (Paige Michalchuk), Nina Dobrev (Mia Jones), Stacey Farber (Ellie Nash), Shane Kippel (Spinner Mason), Miriam MacDonald (Emma Nelson), Melissa McIntyre (Ashley Kerwin), Adamo Rugguiero (Marco Del Rossi), AJ Saudin (Connor DeLaurier), Christina Schmidt (Christina Schmidt), Cassie Steele (Manny Santos), and many many more, for what is easily the most Canadians ever assembled in a rap video.

The gang was also joined by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, reprising their Jay and Silent Bob characters. Smith has long been a fan of Degrassi, even appearing in the four-part Degrassi Goes Hollywood special. Sadly, there was no Alanis Morissette cameo. The video shows the cast reprising their characters and calling back to famous moments in the series. Spinner pukes in the hallway (because of course), and Drake’s crew chases down school shooter Rick (Ephram Ellis), who shot Jimmy. We even get an extended scene of Principal Simpson buying weed from Jay and Silent Bob.

Many of Drake’s co-stars took to social media to discuss the emotional reunion:

Twitter lost its damn mind over the video, with my favorite trend being the internet’s collective thirst for AJ Saudin aka Conner:

And everyone of course got teary-eyed over the cast singing the theme song over the end credits. “I’m Upset” will be featured on Drake’s upcoming album Scorpion, which drops on June 29th.
