DuckTales Reboot Teaser: The Premiere Lurks Behind You

2017 is going to be a duck blur.

It’s only 15 seconds long, but it’s enough. The first trailer for the upcoming DuckTales reboot has landed, and it’s… well, it’s as the youths of the 90s and early aughts used to say: so cash.

Sorry, I feel a little bit gross saying that. Anyway.

The reboot’s scheduled to come out in 2017 on Disney XD, and this teaser doesn’t reveal much (it’s a teaser, after all). But it does hit the nostalgia button in just the right way, with the instrumental for the show’s original theme plus one solitary “A-woo-ooo!” to cap it all off. As well, it’s got plenty of what Scrooge loves best: money, specifically coins. So many, many coins.

DuckTales is set to premiere in the summer of 2017, and will consist of 21 episodes, each a half hour long. There will also be two hour-long specials over the course of the season.

You can also see above that the show’s style is markedly different, looking a lot more like a comic book than anything else. This is thanks to art director Sean Jimenez, who previously worked on another fan-favorite cartoon, Gravity Falls. That show certainly had a very striking, memorable style, and it’d be safe to expect that the same can be said for DuckTales.

So what’s up, are you stoked about the reboot? I’m just going to be over here listening to the theme song over and over and over again. No regrets.
