Young Scientist Eesha Khare Chats With Conan About Her Award Winning Experiment
she blinded me with science
Harvard-bound Eesha Khare, one of three winners of this year’s Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, talked to Conan O’Brian about her experiment on cell phone batteries, “Design and Synthesis of Hydrogenated TiO2-Polyaniline Nanorods for Flexible High-Performance Supercapacitors,” in her interview on his show last night. Watch as she demonstrates her invention and jokes with Conan without missing a beat, and click after the jump for the second part of the interview.
Khare won a $50,000 scholarship, up against 16,000 other contestants, and created a truly amazing technology. Via the Raw Story, Khare’s invention is “small supercapacitor that can fit inside a cell phone battery and enable ultra-fast electricity transfer and storage.” Essentially, Khare has created a piece of technology that enables her to charge a cell phone in 20 to 30 seconds, and that is extremely portable.
