Things We Saw Today: Yes, Even Ewan McGregor Uses ‘The Force’ on Automatic Doors

Who among us hasn’t pretended we were a Jedi and used “the Force” to open automatic doors at stores? I know I have, and one time, I did it to walk into a store playing John Williams’ iconic score, so that was a real out-of-body experience for me. But it’s something that many fans of Star Wars have done because we’re all a bit nerdy. So, color me shocked when it was revealed that the actors who bring our iconic characters to life also sometimes pretend the Force is real!

Ewan McGregor sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about his upcoming return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in his Disney+ series of the same name.

While chatting, McGregor admitted that even he has attempted to be a Jedi while walking into a store or anyplace using automatic doors.

While it isn’t exactly important, it is nice to know that I’m not the only one who walks into Walgreens and pretends to throw the door open like the Jedi in the world of Star Wars. Even if Ewan McGregor gets to play pretend Jedi and get paid for it, at least we know he’s a nerd outside of work, too.
